Bike India

On the Horns of a Dilemma

-

Your April 2018 issue made for such a fun read! That Ninja H2 SX piece made me want to go out and buy a lottery ticket right away. (Because that’s the only way I will be able to afford it!).

I was really looking forward to that Brutale RR story as well because I’m actually in the market for a premium naked bike like that. However, even the Rs 18 lakh you predicted is beyond my budget.

I’m looking at something around the Rs 10-11 lakh mark. I had pretty much decided on the Triumph Street Triple RS until the new Ducati Monster 821 dropped out of nowhere and now I’m confused. The Triple RS had everyone, including you guys, raving about it and it is the more powerful of the two on paper. However, if I am spending that amount, I’d rather have a Ducati because that brand has been my go-to bedroom decoration growing up and it is also the cheaper of the two.

What is your opinion about the new 821? Please advise me.

Hello, Vicky,

Thank you for your kind words. While we haven’t ridden the 821 here in India as yet, our International Contributor Roland Brown did ride it in Italy. We published that review in our February 2018 issue. He came away quite impressed with the bike, so you may look up that review for all the details. You might have to wait a little for our India review, though. We suggest that you take both bikes out for a thorough test ride to see for yourself which one is preferable.
