Spied: 2021 KTM RC 390 Looks Razor-sharp Royal Enfield Hunter on the Prowl

-

THE NEW KTM RC 390 MOTORCYCLE SPORTS A WHOLE NEW DESIGN WITH SHARPER LINES than the Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk stealth bomber, LED lighting, a transparent fairing around the headlamp, air-vents on the sides, and a larger fuel-tank. Besides, we might see a larger front disc brake with dual-channel ABS.

The 2021 KTM RC 390 will come with the BS6-compliant 373-cc single-cylinder motor that produces 44 hp and 35 Nm of grunt and will come mated to a six-speed gearbox. This is the same motor and transmission we find in the new 390 Duke, hence performance figures should be similar to what we are already used to with the orange 390s. The 2021 KTM RC 390 will be produced at the Bajaj Auto facility at Chakan, near Pune, and is set to be launched globally this year.

THE LAUNCH OF THE ROYAL ENFIELD HUNTER seems imminent. The bike was spotted being tested near the company’s manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu recently. The test mule looks like a proper roadster with an upright riding position and is reminiscent of the Triumph Street Twin — right from the round headlight and tail-light units, a classic teardrop-shaped fuel-tank, a single-piece seat, and alloy wheels. The Hunter is also expected to borrow the Meteor 350’s instrument cluster and will sport telescopic front forks, twin shock-absorbers at the rear, and disc brakes at both ends.

It seems obvious that the new bike will employ the company’s 349-cc single-cylinder, air-cooled motor putting out 20.5 hp and 27 Nm of torque. Another interesting design element is the shorter and upswept exhaust unit which should sing a different tune altogether. When the bike is launched in India in the next couple of months, it is expected to be priced around Rs 1.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
