Salient FeatureS at a Glance

-

Engine: The iconic 803-cc Desmo air-cooled V-twin produces 73 hp at 8,250 rpm and 65.2 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. The new lighter eight-disc clutch reduces overall weight by 2.5 kilos. Service intervals are still wide at 12,000 km.

TC and ABS: Cornering ABS gets carried over from the second-generation model, but now we have lean-sensitive traction control (with four levels). Road mode is set to level 3 and Sport to level 2. You can turn off the TC.

Riding modes: The introduction of ride-by-wire allows two riding modes, Sport and Road. While Sport has a dynamic throttle response, Road is much smoother. Modes can be changed on the go with a closed throttle.

Suspension: The rear Kayaba shock moves to a more conventional central position. To get to the pre-load adjuster, you now have to remove a side-panel. Nonadjustable 41-mm Kayaba forks remain the same upfront.

Tyre and wheels: Slightly unusual wheel sizes—110/80 R18 front and 180/55 R17 rear—are still shod with versatile Pirelli MT60 rubber.

Colour options and variants: The choice of spec and colours for Icon owner is huge. Each colour option looks fantastic in the metal, making it tough to choose the best option. If you change your mind, you can transform your bike in less than an hour by changing the removable tank covers, front and rear mud-guards, headlight cover, and front and rear tag stickers on the wheels.

Apart from the Icon, the Scrambler range continues with the updated Full Throttle and Nightshift variants. The Full Throttle comes with a dedicated livery and seat, side number-plate, a Termignoni slip-on silencer, a sump-guard, low handlebars, LED indicators, a sport front mudguard, and the all-important quick-shifter. The Nightshift also gets a specific livery plus a sporty seat tail, LED indicators, a sporty front mudguard and number-plate and different spoke wheels, bar end mirrors, and flat bars.
