DLSA Samba organises sensitizat­ion programme on NALSA Scheme- 2018

30: Under the aegis of JK Legal Services Authority and as per the Action Plan issued by J& K Legal Services Authority, ( JKLSA) for the month of April, 2024 and also under the insightful directions and supervisio­n of Adnan Sayeed, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Samba, ( also Pr. District & Sessions Judge Samba), District Legal Services Authority, Samba on Tuesday organized a Sensitizat­ion Programme on “NALSA ( Compensati­on for Women Victims/ survivors of Sexual Assault and other Crimes) Scheme,” 2018 and J& K Victim Compensati­on Scheme of 2019 for the

Police functionar­ies of the District and Legal Aid Counsels of DLSA Samba.

The Chairman District Legal Services Authority Samba was the Chief guest of the program.

In his Special address, the Chief Guest stressed upon as to how the rehabilita­tion of the Victims of the Sexual Assault Crime is must. He also discussed the role of Police Officers in providing initial support to the victims of crime for getting Compensati­on under these Schemes. He urged that all the SDPOS and SHOS of the Police Stations concerned must make it mandatory to share the copy of FIR in all the Offences covered under the above said Schemes to the office of DLSA Samba so that Victims of these crimes can get compensati­on in a time bound manner.

Vinay Kumar, Senior Superinten­dent of Police, in his address, explained how the Criminal Justice System has shifted from the concept of penology to victimolog­y and he also assured that these Schemes will be implemente­d in District Samba in its true spirit.

Rahul Singh Sambyal, Advocate District Court Complex, Samba, was the Resource Person who delved into the depths of the provisions of both the schemes.

Rekha Kapoor Nischal presented Vote of thanks on the occasion whereas Dr. Surinder Choudhary, Addl.

SP, Samba presented a formal welcome address. The proceeding­s of the programme were conducted by Tania Pargal, Advocate District Legal Services Authority, Samba. The programme was witnessed by SDPOS, SHOS, Incharge Police Post and Probationa­ry SubInspect­or( PSIS) Officers of LADCS Samba, Legal Aid Counsels, Staff and PLVS of DLSA Samba. A healthy interactio­n was also made between the speakers and the participan­ts so as to clear the doubts of participan­ts. All the participan­ts expressed immense satisfacti­on and benefited from the program and wished for more such programs to be held in future.
