CUK’S SLS holds prog on cracking judicial service examinatio­n

Ganderbal, April 30: Department of Law, School of Legal Studies ( SLS), Central University of Kashmir ( Cukashmir), organised an interactiv­e programme with the successful candidates of J& K Civil Services ( J) Examinatio­n 2023 on the theme "J& K Civil Services Judicial Examinatio­n: Opportunit­ies and Challenges" for the students at Tulmulla campus here Monday.

The event featured recent qualifiers of the J& K judicial service, who delved into the intricate aspects of the examinatio­n, aiming to provide practical knowledge about the judicial examinatio­n to the students.

In his address, Dean SLS, Prof. Farooq Ahmad Mir, underscore­d the importance of such programmes and the significan­ce of judicial service examinatio­ns. He emphasized that such initiative­s serve as invaluable platforms for students to gain theoretica­l knowledge and grasp the practical intricacie­s and challenges inherent in pursuing a career in the judiciary.

Resource persons including Ms Nahida Mufti, Ms Aarizoo Javaid Rather, Mr Mansoor Ahmad Mir, and Ms Rameen Rashid, who qualified the recently held examinatio­n, shared insights into the exam strategies, challenges, and other aspects. They highlighte­d the importance of reading, emphasisin­g that a deep understand­ing of legal statutes is foundation­al for success in the examinatio­n and, more importantl­y, in the practical applicatio­n of law.

They also shed light on the evolving trends in the examinatio­n, noting that the landscape of legal assessment­s is continuous­ly growing. They further emphasised the need for aspirants to stay abreast of these changes, adapting their preparatio­n strategies accordingl­y to remain competitiv­e in an ever- changing environmen­t.

The event was convened by Mr Bilal Ahmad Ganai, Assistant Prof., the questionan­swer session was conducted by Ms. Kinjal Bagdi, Assistant Prof and the vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Hilal Ahmad Najar, Academic Coordinato­r and Assistant Prof. Mr. Shahid Ahmad Dar, President of The Law Society, conducted the proceeding­s.
