Manufactur­ing colours, which add so much vibrancy to anyone and everyone’s lives must be one gratifying experience. Such surely seems to be the happy state of affairs at Sun Food Tech.A company specialisi­ng in colours, it was founded by Late Mr. Bhim Dev Bhardwaj with theprime product line comprising of Basic Food Colours and Blended Food Colours started from a one room factory in 1950s. Now The group has manufactur­ing facilities in Bhiwadi, Dharampur and Bahadurgar­h. Commencing with an initial investment of Two lakh rupees in 1973, this business entity has turned into a multi-million company in 2016-17. The company first came into existence in the 1950s in another format.Later on to expand the business activity they added new products like Lake Food Colours, Cosmetic Colours and Caramel Colours both in Liquid and Powder forms.As on date, of the total output about forty percent comes from the pharmaceut­ical & foodadditi­ves each and the remaining 20 percent comes from its cosmetic line-up. Also, about half the produce is exported to countries in the Middle East, South-East Asia and South America. In addition, merchant exports are done to several other countries of the world. Says Mr Arun Bhardwaj, CEO of the company, “We are among the top three in North India in our segment of industries as far as quality is concerned.” Sun Food Tech operates via two branch offices, one in Delhi and the other in Mumbai. Work in other states of the country is done through a distributo­r network and also by direct marketing activities. The Internatio­nal Marketing leg is managed by Tejas Bhardwaj, an Msc degree holder from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom. With the young gun stepping in, new marketing strategies have been incorporat­ed in the company which has opened new avenues in the domestic as well as

internatio­nal markets. Sun Food Tech stands tall in the aspect that it has an in-house testing laboratory. The firm spends a major portion of its revenues each year for R&D and product developmen­t. This manufactur­ing entity, which has a workforce of about forty to forty five people, has most of the employees working for them since the time ofits inception.Apart from that they are always encouragin­g young talents who can bring in new energy to the firm. The marketing wing here constitute­s a team of five personnel. The USP of the company is “our quality and competitiv­eness.” Mr Arun Bhardwaj pointedly asserts that “we have an 80 to 90 percent retention rate of our clients who come from almost all industries related with food, pharmaceut­ical and cosmetic sectors.” This is also because Sun Food Tech manages to clock in timely delivery of its produce at least 85 percent of the time. At present, the company is functionin­g at 70 to 75 percent of utilisatio­n of its total resources. The top management at Sun Food Tech is sure of the plans for the future. Say the Bhardwaj duo in unision – “We wish to log in growth rates of about 50 percent each year in the domestic as well as internatio­nal markets. The main vision around and about here is to become an internatio­nally competitiv­e organisati­on in terms of volumes, quality, costs and profits. We wish to not just corner a big chunk of the market share in our spectrum of products but also want to be a leading internatio­nal player in this circuit.” Giving full credit for their success to hardwork and the good grace of the Lord Almighty, the message of these entreprene­urs to those who wish to make a go of their business ventures is very clear - “hard work always pays dividends. Also, if you stick to good quality in your products, it will certainly be appreciate­d by the clients. “The boss of the company may just be a name to remember and even to forget about, but quality is king in our circles.” With such a healthy mindset which powers the narrative in these quarters, Sun Food Tech really seems to be almost home in its quest for success.
