It really means a lot when one is recognized for the work that is put in. Not only is it very encouraging and a big boost to the morale of anyone and everyone, it is also a stamp of surety given to any person or concern for the effort it has undertaken and been successful at. Take the case of Evergreen Foods Pvt. Ltd. for one. Being considered as the number one company in North India in its segment of business is the happy space which belongs to it. Also, it is considered with the exclusive club of top five, pan India. Founded by Gagan Seth and Raju Seth in 1992, this firm has sister concerns as well: Evergreen Logistics and Evergreen Engineering. The product line-up of this Delhi-based concern includes refrigerated transport for perishable, non-perishable and pharmaceutical items which require controlled temperatures for which they make use of a fleet of about one hundred and seventy trucks. Started with an initial investment of five lakh rupees, this unit turned in 2016-17 with Rs 27 crore. This is as compared with Rs 21 crore of the year before and Rs 19 crore of the year 2014-15. The organisation has been logging growth rates hinging between
fifteen to twenty per cent each year. Certified with the FSSAI, CRESIL (2 star) and SME registrations, Evergreen Foods Pvt. Ltd. specialises in last mile connectivity and covers almost all of the five star hotels in the Delhi and NCR regions. Some of the items transported by this corporate entity include fresh fruits, vegetables, ice-creams, medicines, dairy products and chemicals. “We make use of the latest technology to preserve and transport frozen foods and chemicals,” informs Gagan Seth, in a matter-of-fact voice. Also, says he, “we transport and supply frozen foods to various destinations across the nation depending upon customer requirements. Our wide transport services include pharmaceutical transportation services, refrigerated transportation services, frozen food transportation services and door to door transportation services, among others.” Working with a staff strength of 28, of which one person is dedicated to sales and marketing, this business entity rings in an employee retention of 85 per cent. Says Gagan Seth assertively – “we provide them with timely increment and give them providend fund facilities.” A matter of real pride for them is that their client list runs into about 110 establishments and includes names like HUL, Venky’s India, Param Dairy, Gopal Dairy, Shine Road India, Riche’s Gravis et al. For this, “we manage to bell in a client retention rate of a whopping 99 per cent.” Of his line or work, says Gagan Seth optimistically, “logistics is a very professional service industry and has plenty of scope for new entrepreneurs to join in with nominal capital investment.” Evergreen Foods Pvt. Ltd. has several aces up its sleeve when it comes to the nature of work it does. Take its fleet of refrigerated containers, for example. They are capable of maintaining really low temperatures. The containers are insulated panels which offer very superior insulation properties. Their low thermal conductivity reduces the time needed for bringing down the temperatures in the van. The floor of the container is fitted with gratings which ensure uniform circulation of air throughout the unit. Also, an additional container roof of fifteen millimetres thickness prevents heat transfer from the roof. This, in turn, cuts short the heat load by a good fifteen per cent and enhances the temperature holding capacity of the refrigerated vans. Another credit to the company is that its containers are equipped with GPS based GPRS systems which help in tracking exact location and speed of vehicles along with the temperature maintained inside them. For the record, the size of containers ranges between 2MT to 20 MT capacities. Gagan Seth is more than happy about the fact that “our chief USP is to provide personalised service to clients. We also offer QSR to them as well as a daily report service.” In addition, “we ensure prompt service, effective performance and highly reliable work which is cost-effective in nature.” The primetime vision in this company’s ramparts is to “grow by about fifteen per cent each year. In addition, we are looking at turnovers to the tune of about 35 crore by the year 2020.” Incidentally, Gagan Seth, who attributes the successful score card of his company to “God’s grace, team work and family support,” believes that the government of the day should eradicate toll taxes charged on the highways at least to give a fillip to his line of work. He, who is so full of fired up zeal and ambition to achieve bigger milestones in his business, is sure to attain all that he hopes to. Here is wishing cart-fuls of luck for Evergreen Foods Pvt. Ltd. in its odyssey to trail-blaze across the skies of refrigerated transportation.
