The founding of Sahasra Group in 2000 is rooted to the establishment of Info Power Technologies Limited in 1990 involving an investment of Rs. 5.5 crore. Amrit Manwani, a graduate from IIT Kanpur and an MBA from FMS, was the brainchild behind the naissance of both the industrial identities. A family owned but professionally run business ! Prior to starting his entrepreneurial venture, Mr. Manwani worked for L&T and GE. Growing at an average rate of 30%, the group generated a turnover of Rs. 250 crore (both domestic and international) last fiscal. This financial year, Mr. Manwani is envisaging the generation of a mind boggling Rs. 280 crore!

At the Rwanda unit, we manufacture all types of LED lights. 3 factories in India including 2 in the SEZ constitute our infrastructural strength. All manufacturing units are equipped with advanced machines and in-house testing labs accoutered with testing instruments and facilities. Most of the machines have been imported from Japan, Germany, USA and few from Taiwan” says the charismatic Mr. Varun Manwani, Director. An Economics Hons graduate from Delhi University, he joined the group in 2001. He looks after the operations of the group. A dedicated R&D unit is the competitive strength of Sahasra Group’s LED Lights Venture. A team of R&D experts research on current and emerging technologies and market trends and accordingly facilitate development of innovative products. The group spends 2% of its domestic turnover annually on R&D activities.

We have 65% stake in it,” says Mr. Varun Manwani. The group has acquired 15 acres of land in Greater Noida for its parent firm Info Power Technologies Limited which has collaborated with MiTAC from Taiwan. The joint venture will lead to manufacturing of dashcams, high end servers and related products in India. Sahasra Group has an employee strength of 550 dedicated professionals. 95% of the staff has been retained since inception.
