The ‘insider’

Thousands of investors have made money in the current bull run in the Indian stock market. However, Arundhati Bhattachar­ya ( pictured), former chairman of State Bank of India, expressed regret that she was not able to take advantage of the bull run. “I was chairman of SBI, which meant I knew every Indian company from the inside and hence every trade (that I would have conducted) could have been construed as insider trading,” she said at an event.
