MSCI announces changes to several global indices

Index provider MSCI has announced changes to several of its global indices as part of a semi-annual review. The rejigging of MSCI Global Standard and MSCI Small Cap Indexes has impacted at least three dozen domestic stocks. Britannia Industries, Petronet LNG and Vakrangee have been added to MSCI India Global Standard Index, while Apollo Hospitals has been removed. Shares of Vakrangee gained 5.4 per cent to ~650 on Tuesday, while that of Britannia, Petronet and Apollo lost 1.5 per cent, 2.9 per cent and 0.7 per cent, respectively.
