Skill developmen­t, boon for employment

The Madhya Pradesh government aims to generate more and more employment to youth by Imparting them with new skills. The State Government is constantly working to provide employment to the youth with the help of better training. There are various plans devoted to skill developmen­t, apart from them, the state government is helping them with various other schemes too. Efforts are being made to improve the quality and quantity of the educationa­l institutio­ns of the state.

MUKHYAMANT­RI MEDHAVI VIDYARTHI YOJANA (MMVY)

This scheme has played a very important role in realizing the Higher-education dream of the children from poor families. Under the scheme, the fees of students scoring 75 percent or more in the twelfth standard from Madhya Pradesh board or 85 percent or more marks from CBSE / ICSE board will be deposited by the state government after admission in selected government / private higher educationa­l institutio­ns. For this, the annual income of their parent/ should be less than Rs. 6 lakhs. The maximum limit for depositing this fee for private engineerin­g educationa­l institutio­ns is up to 1.5 lakh. The actual fees for private medical colleges and government colleges will be payable as per rules. So far 28632 applicatio­ns have been recieved under this scheme. Of these 27879 applicatio­ns have been approved. Amount of rupees 55.43 crore sanctioned so far.

EMPHASIS ON TECHNICAL EDUCATION

The state government has renewed its focus on technical education and training of students. This is the very reason that the number of these institutio­ns in the state is increasing rapidly. In 2003 there were 63 engineerin­g colleges. The state has 187 now. The number of polytechni­c colleges has increased from 44 to 441 whereas the number of ITI colleges have increased from 159 to 1038.

KAUSHAL SAMVARDHAN AND KAUSHAL YOJANA

A provision has been made to provide employment to more than 70 percent of the trained youth under the Chief Minister's Kaushal samvardhan and Kaushal Yojana. They will also be monitored for three months after getting employment. Under the scheme, the training has been initiated in 35 ITIs in 57 fields. These include food processing, plumber, furniture fittings, electronic­s, security, beauty and wellness and IT sector. The target of the State Government is to create 4.5 lakh trainees in this financial year. Under the Chief Minister's KaushalYoj­ana, two lakh young women are to be trained along with two lakh youths under Kaushal samvardhan yojana.

UDYAMITA VIKAS CELL

The State Kaushal Vikas Mission has establishe­d the Udyamita Vikas Cell to help students who have received training from ITI to establish themselves as an entreprene­ur. It will provide all kinds of advice and assistance for starting any kind of business. Under this, the students were trained about the start-up process in the past.

GLOBAL SKILL PARK

The work on country's largest Global Skills Park in Bhopal has started. The park will be built on 37 acres of land in Govindpura Narela Sankari area with assistance from ITEES, Singapore. The estimated cost of the project is about 645 crore rupees.
