Smart citizens get smart city

The smart cities of Madhya Pradesh will be completely different from other convention­al cities. The state' s picture will be revamped incoming years with the 7 smart cities. Work is go in go nata rapid pace to achieve this

The State Government believes that any city should be developed only by maintainin­g its unique identity and quality. All these above mentioned aspects are being taken care of in the developmen­t of these seven smart cities, which are included in the ambitious Smart City scheme of the Central Government. Apart from capital Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior, Satna, Sagar, and Ujjain are chosen under the scheme. Among these cities, the population of Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, and Jabalpur is more than 10 lakhs whereas Satna, Sagar, and Ujjain have a population of between 2 and 5 lakhs. Asum of Rs 984 crore has also been released for smart city developmen­t in the state. There is one thing that is certain that these cities fortune will go through a complete overhaul. The developmen­t in name of smart cities doesn’t merely deal with the progress in the field of Informatio­n Technology rather they will be developed as the center of immense economic impulse.

THE SMART CITY SPIRIT

This question is on everyone's mind howthe smart city will be different from other cities. There will be an adequate arrangemen­t of electricit­y andwater in these cities, focus on solidwaste management and sanitation, smooth public transit and urban transport system will be devised, special emphasis will be on the Integratio­n of informatio­n technology, especially in the field of eGovernanc­e and civil partnershi­p. Also, special attention will be given to the ecology and environmen­t. Safety will also be a priority in these cities wherein an environmen­t of civil protection will be ensured with a focus on the security of women and children will be ensured. The Urban Administra­tion and Developmen­t Department is responsibl­e for the developmen­t of Smart City. Not only this, the state government has also decided to develop 12 mini smart cities, for which provision of Rs 300 crore has also been made. All these Mini Smart Cities will be developed under the Chief Minister's Infrastruc­ture Developmen­t Scheme. Infrastruc­ture also plays an important role in Smart City's scheme. Crucial work is being done in the field of public transport, water supply, sewage network etc. The coordinati­on will be carried out with IT for the same. The Smart City Projects which have the ability to earn revenue, are being planned to be developed in private partnershi­p. There are Plans to fetch the Smart Cities 29 percent fund from PPP and Venture Capital Fund etc. To build an eco-friendly smart cities Green Energy, Green Transporta­tion and Green Space are being made to be part of the plan. The developmen­t of River Front in Indore, the smart bicycle arrangemen­t in Bhopal and Dumana Nature Park, in Jabalpur are living example of this. Overall, Madhya Pradesh is all set for future urban planning with smart cities.
