IOC to lay pipeline to evacuate products from Paradip refinery

Indian Oil Company Ltd( I O CL) plans to laya330-km pipe line from Para dip to Hal di a via So mn at hp ur( in Ba las ore) for evacuating products from its Paradipre finery. The IOCL board has given the first-stage approval for the project which is likely to be developed in two stages. In the first stage, detailed engineerin­g will bed one. The pipeline project will see an investment of ~10.81 billion and out of it ~7.22 billion will be investedin Odisha. “The products H SD( high speed diesel), motor spirit and kerosene will be evacuated from the Para dip refinery for delivery at the oil depots,” said PC Chou bey, executive director, South Eastern Region Pipe lines (SERPL), Bhubaneswa­r. IOCL’s 15 million ton ne per annum capacity refinery at Para dip is spread over an area of 3,345 acres with an estimated cost of ~345.55billion. There finery can process 100 percent high sulphur and heavy crude oil to produce various petroleum products like pet roland diesel of BS-IV quality, kerosene, aviation turbine fuel, propylene, sulphur and petroleum coke. It is also designed to produce Eur o-V premium quality motor spirit and other green auto fuel variants for export. Odishais set to become the first state in eastern India to have all the pipeline sin the hydro carbon chain ranging from crude oil to petroleum products, LPG and naturalgas. IOCL, under the aegis of SERPL, Bhubaneswa­r, intends to lay 356- km long first natural gas pipeline in eastern part of India from D ham ra Port to Hal di a and Para dip for dedicated supply of natural gas to Para dip and Hal di a refineries for captive consumptio­n.
