Solar installati­ons in India rise by 34% in Q1

Solar installati­on sin India increased by 34 percent to 3,269 megawatt (Mw) inthe firstquart­er (Q1) of2018, compared with the fourth quarter (Q4) of2017, according to Mer com Communicat­ions. “Q 12018 was the best quarter on record for solar installati­on sin India, with 3,269Mw, a 34 percent increase, comparedto­2,448 M win stalled in Q 4 of 2017. Installati­ons were also up when compared to the 2,991 M win stalled in Q 1 of 2017,” Mer com Communicat­ions India said in a statement. It said that the surge in installati­on sin Q 1 of ongoing calendar year was primarily on account of completion of projects which were scheduled for commission­ing the previous quarter, but had experience­d delays due to grid connection issues.
