MEGA INVESTMENT

■ The proposed plant, at the Mundra SEZ, will produce products like ethylene and will also have a naphtha cracker unit

■ Ethylene is used in the manufacture of

plastic, automotive antifreeze and detergent, etc; Naphtha is used to dilute heavy oil to help move it through pipelines, make high-octane gas, make lighter fluid

■ Proposed investments in Gujarat rose 40% to ~790.68 billion in 2017 from ~561.56 billion in 2016

■ The state received investment plans to the tune of ~83.65 billion in 2018 (till March)
