Cognizant names CEO D’Souza vice-chairman

Cognizant on Wednesday said its board had appointed Francisco D’ Souza (pictured) vice-chairman in addition to his current role as CEO. The appointment comes almost a year after its previous vice chairman Lakshmi Na ray an an stepped out of the board by not seeking re election. Both D'Souza and Na ray an an are co-founder soft he Nasdaq-listed IT services firm, which was founded in 1994. Cog ni zan t’ s leadership team has been at the vanguard of the shift sin technology, and the firm has invested significantly in digital over the past several years to achieve a differentiated market position, John Klein, chairman of Cognizant board of directors, said .“We have the market position and the executive team to further extend Cog ni zan t’ s leadership ,” he said .“As Cognizant turns 25, our market opportunity has never been greater as we focus on creating the digital leaders of tomorrow ,” D’Souza said.
