The Mo to G 6 seems to be a value for Motorola, a Lenovo-owned smartphone manufacturer, recently refreshed its affordable Mo to G-series with the launch of the Mo to G 6 in India. The smartphone is the first Mo to device to sport at all screen, which has become a common feature in the smart phones launched in 2018. Butit’s not just the new aspect ratio screen; the phone also gets dual rear cameras, a premium glass build, a front-mounted finger print sensor and face-unlock feature, which makes the phone a feature-rich proposition in the mid-range segment.

The phone has the classic Motorola design with its metal chassis sandwiched between the front and back glass. The glass design looks premium and the phone feels solid in hand. However, just like any other glass-based smartphone, the phone’s back isa fingerprint magnet that dulls its she en. The dual camera set-up and the LED flash on the back are placed inside a circular module that bulges out, making the phone uneven on flat surfaces. Onthe front, themodern5.7-inch, 18:9 aspect ratio screen stretches from edge-to edge but leaves notice able bezels on the top and bottom.

The Mo to G 6 is powered by Qu al comm Snap dragon 450 system-on-chip( So C ), paired with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage. The phone boots Android Oreo out of the box with no pr e-installed bloat ware and the vanilla interface is reminiscent of the Google Pixel smart phones. The phone’ s performance is top-notch with no notice able lags or inconsistencies. However, due to its entry level processor, the phone struggles to run graphic-intensive apps.

The phone’ s dual camera set upon the back features a 12-megapixel primary sensor, ma ted with a 5 MP depth-sensing lens. While the camera output is satisfactory, thea dd-ons, such as the spot colour feature( which allows you to pick a colour and a spot and leave everything else in black and white) and the portrait mode (which allows re adjusting the focus after taking a picture) offer a lotto experiment with. The 16 MP front camera with a soft LED flash gives satisfactory results but is not exceptional.

The phone has a 3,000mAh battery that keeps the show going for a full day with some battery to spare. Its fast charger replenishes the battery from 0 to 100 percent in less than two hours and the phone has aU SB type-C port for charging and data transfers, which is a welcome addition, considering the fact that most mid-range smart phones still offer a micro US B port.

Pricedat ~ 15,999, the Moto G6 is a premium-looking device that ticks almost all the right boxes. On top of it, the phone is also water resistant, but only up to a level of accidental splash es.
