Aruna Jayanthi gets new role at Capgemini

French software giant Capgemini has announced a new leadership group led by Aruna Jayanthi ( pictured), earlier head of its business services. Aruna will be heading the Asia-Pacific and Latin American businesses as managing director.

Aruna reports to Aiman Ezzat, group chief operating officer; she remains a member of the group executive committee. Anis Chenchah will replace her as chief executive, Business Services Global Business Line. Chenchah will report to Thierry Delaporte, group COO.

Jayanthi has been part of global CEO Paul Hermelin’s executive committee since 2012, with former deputy CEO Salil Parekh (who took the helm of Infosys Technologi­es this January). Capgemini India head Srinivas Kandula is also part of the GEC.

Jayanthi was head of Capgemini in India during 20112015. From 2016 to mid-2018, she was head of business services, a unit that provides business process outsourcin­g and platform (integrated technology and operations) services based on Capgemini’s intellectu­al property for various industry segments.

Between 2011 and 2015, when Jayanthi was head of Capgemini in India, there was a significan­t increase in Indian integratio­n and performanc­e, with headcount rising from 32,000 to 85,000. From January 2014, Jayanthi has also served as head of the country board for Capgemini Sweden. The Narsee Munjee Institute of Management (Mumbai) alumna has about 25 years of experience in the informatio­n technology services sector.
