Ashok Leyland brings out BADA Dost to expand LCVS

Ashok Leyland on Monday expanded its light commercial vehicles (LCV) offering, with the launch of ‘BADA Dost’, which is from a new platform. By growing its LCV portfolio, the Hinduja company is aiming to become among the top 10 CV players, globally. The company has invested around ~350 crore in the new platform, based on which one new product will be launched every three months for the next 2-2.5 years for both global and domestic markets. The CV major said that LCVS will be one of the three major levers that will drive the company’s growth, the other two being defence and buses. This will be the first LCV platform completely designed and launched by Ashok Leyland after the company ended its joint venture with Nissan a few years back. Dheeraj Hinduja, chairman, Ashok Leyland, said, “This launch is an important milestone to achieve our vision, which is to be among the 10 global players in the CV industry.”
