ENGINEERS — THE BUILDING BLOCKS OF INDIA

ENGINEERS IN INDIA CONTRIBUTE GREATLY TO THE NATION’S TECHNOLOGICAL AND INDUSTRIAL GROWTH

-

The year 2021 marks the 53rd anniversary of the Engineer’s Day in India and 160th birth anniversary of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvarayya. India celebrates Engineers’ Day every year on 15th September in the honor of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, one of the greatest engineers of his time, a great educationist, Statesman, a scholar and indeed the most celebrated engineer India has produced till date.

Sir MV was internationally popular for his brilliance and his great achievement in harnessing water resources in India. Engineers are the professionals who design, build and test the construction, raw materials and process of the project; they also consider the restrictions imposed by the regulation, feasibility, safety and cost of the project.they convert the theoretical knowledge of basic sciences into actual products and thus make our lives easy. Engineers in India contribute greatly to the nation’s technological and industrial growth.

It is also important to know that all over the world engineers’ day is celebrated on different dates. Engineers are the professionals who design, build and test the construction, raw materials and process of the project; they also consider the restrictions imposed by the regulation, feasibility, safety and cost of the project. Engineers play a very significant role in every walk of our lives.they convert the theoretical knowledge of basic sciences into actual products and thus make our lives easy. Engineers in India contribute greatly to the nation’s technological and industrial growth.

India as a nation reportedly creates approximately 20 lakhs engineers every year including all the fields and disciplines such as computer science, electronics, civil, electrical, technical, mechanical, etc. Engineers are synonymous with diligence and determination. Human progress would be incomplete without their innovative zeal.

Engineering is a vast field with different specialisations such as electrical, technical, computer, mechanical, etc and thus different departments call for celebration in different style. The celebration methods may also vary from company to company.

While government companies follow the annual theme for the Engineer’s day, private companies may either follow the theme or may decide their own theme. Engineers play a great role in the advancement and economic growth of any company and thus it doesn’t matter how they celebrate the annual day, what is important that they must rejoice the annual function to keep motivated themselves and continue with the great work they do for general public. Engineering encompasses a whole range of industries that could include on-site, practical construction work as well as evaluating safety systems from an office. They use the knowledge they have within a specific industry in order to make things work and solve problems, whether this be with transport, medicine, entertainment, space or the environment.

In fact, engineering is behind everything. Mobile phones? They’re down to engineers. Cars, computers, shoes and even cutlery? It’s all down to engineers.

Engineering Industry is among India’s leading manufacturing sectors. It draws sustenance from India’s formidable base of heavy and capital goods industries, a large knowledge pool, and competitive cost structures. Our thrust on infrastructure development and industrial production provides further fillip to the sector, creating high demand for products across the engineering spectrum from machinery and automotives to power equipment, electronics, and advanced manufacturing.

India’s engineering industry has been driven by inter-sectoral linkages and proactive government policies. Special initiatives have been taken to support key sub-sectors, with policies dedicated to automotives, electronics, chemicals and petrochemicals, and heavy machinery, among others. Clusters and growth corridors across the country facilitate competitiveness as centers such as Pune, Chennai and Bengaluru have attained global acclaim for their high quality products.

India enjoys strong competencies in engineering, with advantages in design, new product development and time-to-market capacities. As services input for manufacturing industries expand, India with its capabilities in services sector can play a bigger role in knowledge inputs for the engineering industry. A large number of global firms are already taking advantage of these benefits by establishing their research and development centers in India.

Although engineering does form a part of the Services sector also, as in designing, software solutions, knowledge banks, etc., it is in the manufacturing sector where its heart lies. Since manufacturing units, especially large ones employ people on a large scale, their bearing on the region’s economic welfare is more inclusive and more influential.

The field of engineering is omnipresent; from a fan to a scissor, every object is a feat of engineering. It is crucial for the Government to boost this sector as it creates jobs and spurs development in every sense. Government’s key focus on Infrastructure development has spurred the growth of this sector.

If you ask a common man today, what is the role of engineers in your life; he may say a bicycle or mobile phone or an electronic gadget.you ask him further what role Indian engineers have in your life; he may get confused and search of an answer. This is because the achievements of Indian engineers have not adequately percolated down to the grassroots and the potential to impact the common man’s life is yet to be fully exploited.

Engineers are the architect of developing India and scope of Engineers in India is approximately 80 percent of the business sector, which spans across transport, equipment's, capital goods, other machinery and equipment's need good engineers to man their respective jobs. We all are familiar with the engineering, most of them are doing engineering or most of others are preparing for it and many of them had done it.

A few of the recent technological achievements in the recent past, such as India’s Mission to Mars and the highly fruitful ‘Make in India’ campaign, truly exemplifies the role that Indian Engineers have played in national building. India’s emergence as one of the fastest growing economies in the world can also be attributed to the efforts of engineers to push the envelope of technological and economic development in India.

ENGINEERS ARE THE ARCHITECT OF DEVELOPING INDIA AND SCOPE OF ENGINEERS IN INDIA IS APPROXIMATELY 80

PER CENT OF THE BUSINESS SECTOR & PLAY A VERY SIGNIFICANT ROLE IN EVERY WALK OF OUR LIVES
