DROWN OUT THE NOISE

BOSE’S QC 35 RIDES ON THE LEGACY OF THE MUCH APPRECIATED QC 25 AND IS A SOUND BUY.

Bose QC 35, a wireless noise cancellation headphone, has the same design language but weighs more, at 310 gms, than its predecessor, the QC 25, which weighs only 196 gm. It has a wide headband for a more stable fit, making it comfortable to wear for longer durations. Although at first it does feel slightly heavy, you get used to it. The foldable design makes it easier to carry around in the case added to the box which has space to store the charging cable and the aux cable, too. This neatly designed headphone has essential controls such as Bluetooth mode toggle, volume control buttons and a larger multi-functional button for play/ pause, answering calls and initiating voice commands.

Pairing the QC 35 was a breeze with the Bose Connect app ( for both Android and iOS devices). While pairing for the first time, I had to update the software on the headphone through the app and it was ready to play. When worn, the ear cups fit perfectly and cut the outside sound. Bose claims to have added microphones inside and outside the ear cups that help in noise cancellation and it works splendidly. As soon as the headphone was turned on, the outside noise disappeared. The sound quality on the QC 35 is impressive while playing vocals as well as instrumentals, but at higher volumes it lacked thump. In order to use it in the wireless mode, the QC 35 has to be charged; it comes with rechargeable batteries. True to the company’s claim, a single charge lasted me close to 18 hours in the wireless mode, which is pretty good. When it runs out of charge, it can be used as a wired headphone by connecting the cord. The noise cancellation feature does not work at such times, but the wide ear cups manage to cut some amount of outside noise. The Bose Connect app can be used to update the software of the headphones, too. ~
