Facebook has introduced new tools to customise ad viewing experience, letting users choose the kind of ads they want to see on their news feed. If a user is not interested in seeing car advertisem­ents, he can remove that interest from the ad preference­s setting and those ads won't appear on his feed. "We’ve introduced tools to help people control their experience, improved how we decide which ads to show and created new ad formats that complement, rather than detract from, people’s experience online," the company said in a blog post. Earlier, the only way for a Facebook user to not see an ad was to block it, but the new feature would push ads to users even if they have enabled their ad blockers. The company expects that with the help of the new tool, users will find relevant ads and hence there would be no need to block them.
