Apple of His Eye
Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway has increased its stake in Apple Inc. by 55 per cent. As of June 30, Berkshire owned 15.23 million Apple shares worth $1.46 billion, up from 9.81 million shares as of March 31, according to a regulatory filing by the conglomerate. The move came as a surprise as Buffett keeps saying he is averse to technology stocks. His first investment in the sector was in IBM, in 2011. Meanwhile, Berkshire Hathaway has also cut its stake in Walmart Stores by 27 per cent to about 40.23 million shares from 55.24 million.
