CISCO TO BUY SOFTWARE FIRM FOR $1.9 BN

Cisco Systems is acquiring software fi rm BroadSoft for $ 1.9 billion. BroadSoft employees will join Cisco's Unifi ed Communications Technology Group. The deal will allow Cisco to diversify away from its stagnating switches and routers business. It will also help it sell unifi ed communications software to big telecom fi rms.
