Singapore Airlines getting new Bogota connections

-

Singapore Airlines will be getting new connections to the Colombian capital Bogota this month as part of a codeshare agreement with LatinAmerican carrier, Avianca.

In a few days, Singapore Airlines’ “SQ”code will be placed on Avianca’s flights between Bogota and Barcelona and London. Avianca’s“AV”code will also appear on Singapore Airlines’ flights between the two European cities and Singapore.

Back in July, Singapore Airlines began flying its A350 to Barcelona twice a week, cutting out the service’s previous stopover in Milan-Malpensa Airport. The carrier flies both its A380 and B777-300ER on its SingaporeLondon routes, though flight SQ318 that connects best with Avianca’s flight AV121 uses the B777. This connection provides the better overall flight duration at 28 hours and 30 minutes.

As of January 2, Avianca flies its B787 Dreamliner on all its routes between Bogota and Europe.

Details of the mentioned Singapore (SIN)-London (LHR)Bogota (BOG) service are in the table below.

“This new codeshare agreement with Star Alliance partner Avianca provides our customers with seamless connections to Bogota, the financial and commercial centre of Colombia,” said Singapore Airlines’ senior vice president of marketing planning, Tan Kai Ping. singaporeair.com; avianca.com
