VISIT THE RUBIN MUSEUM OF ART

While the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Museum of Modern Art are obvious choices for museum lovers, I quite enjoyed my time at the Rubin Museum of Art that prides itself on art and culture of the Himalayas, India and neighbouring regions. There was a Henri Cartier-Bresson India In Full Frame exhibit running when I had visited (it’s on until September 4), which depicts his work during India’s partition. His black and white photographs, especially from the time of Gandhi’s last day and events around his funeral, are moving. Currently running until January 8, 2018 is The World In Sound exhibit that delves into how we listen to sound with all our senses. Open daily 11am-5pm; tickets are priced at US$15/`955; rubinmuseum.org.

EXPLORE GULLIVER’S GATE

The exhibit also features shrunken to scale cities of various European, Asian and Middle Eastern countries including France, Israel, India, Mexico and Argentina. Open daily 9am-10pm; tickets are priced at US$36/`2,290; gulliversgate.com.
