“Modernism on the Ganges” exhibit at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York
The Modernism on the Ganges series of photographs by Raghubir Singh will be exhibited at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. It will be displayed at The Met Breuer, the museum’s new space dedicated to modern and contemporary art. A curation of the works by this renowned street photographer, the exhibit will celebrate his art from the 1960’s up until his death in the 1990’s. Modernism on the Ganges elucidates his work style that intersects western modernism with traditional South Asian modes of photography. The exhibit runs between October 11, 2017-January 2, 2018.
