Re­cently, ECS had been awarded the ‘Best Gen­eral Sales and Ser­vice Agent 2013’ dur­ing Air Cargo Europe in Mu­nich. Spon­sored by AirAsia Cargo, the award was ad­judged by air-cargo in­dus­try stake­hold­ers across the world on the ba­sis of ex­pe­ri­ence of per­son­nel em­ployed, qual­ity of ser­vice pro­vi­sion and range of value-added ser­vices avail­able. For ECS, this award comes as third in a row af­ter Mu­nich in 2011 and Shang­hai 2012. “We are def­i­nitely driv­ing the right strat­egy with the right peo­ple and should con­tinue to ex­pand in the en­su­ing months,” said Adrien Thominet, COO, ECS Group. “Lead­ing is not an achieve­ment, it is a com­mit­ment-a com­mit­ment to re­main the most in­no­va­tive, the most creative, the most se­cure in or­der to pro­vide our cus­tomers with best prac­tices, best ser­vices and best tools for their cargo busi­ness,” he added. Com­ment­ing on the ex­pec­ta­tions from In­dian mar­ket, Thominet main­tained, “ECS finds In­dia as one of the ma­jor cargo mar­kets for the years to come, both for ex­port and im­port. We have de­cided to in­vest heav­ily in build­ing a pro­fes­sional set-up in In­dia. We will pro­vide sales sup­port for the car­ri­ers, with whom we have a world­wide con­tract. We will also ex­plore all pos­si­ble GSA op­por­tu­ni­ties for this mar­ket.” Presently, ECS has pres­ence in 32 coun­tries with 54 sub­sidiaries, three han­dling plat­forms, 600 em­ploy­ees, 4,000 cus­tomers and 478,000 tonnes freight per an­num. “With global back­ing of our par­ent com­pany, we are proud to have ex­tended our reach to In­dia,” he added. Here, ECS has its of­fices in Mum­bai, Delhi and Chen­nai. In ad­di­tion, the com­pany has also a rep­re­sen­ta­tive of­fice in Hyderabad. Thominet also as­serted that ECS In­dia has grown in last one and half years, aim­ing at ex­cel­lent qual­ity and tai­lor-made ser­vices. At present, ECS In­dia rep­re­sents 10 car­ri­ers that in­clude Ukraine In­ter­na­tional, Brus­sels Air­lines Cargo, XL Air­ways, Ca­mair, Cor­sair, AeroMex­ico, US Air­ways, Tarom, Avient and Niger Air Cargo. “We are ne­go­ti­at­ing with th­ese car­ri­ers to of­fer on­line ser­vices,” in­formed Thominet.
