Delhi Air­port ad­judged 2nd best air­port by ACI

Delhi’s IGI Air­port (IGIA), which was re­cently ad­judged as the sec­ond best in 25-40 mil­lion pas­sen­gers per an­num (MPPA) cat­e­gory in the world, re­ceived the ACI ASQ Award at an awardceremony in Is­tan­bul, Turkey on June 13, 2013. The nine-mem­ber Delhi Air­port team, com­pris­ing rep­re­sen­ta­tives from DIAL, CISF, AOC and Air In­dia, was present at the cer­e­mony of this Air­port Ser­vice Qual­ity (ASQ) Awards or­gan­ised by the Air­ports Coun­cil In­ter­na­tional (ACI) 2012. The air­port scored 4.83 on the ASQ scale out of 5 points and has been recog­nised as the 4th Best Air­port in the world, amongst 199 par­tic­i­pat­ing air­ports across all cat­e­gories and 2nd Best Air­port in its Cat­e­gory in 2012, which is re­mark­able progress from its ASQ score of 3.02 in 2007, rank­ing last in a uni­verse of 101 air­ports. Ex­press­ing his de­light, I Prab­hakara Rao, CEO-DIAL said, “Rep­re­sent­ing an In­dian air­port at a glob­ally recog­nised fo­rum was re­ally an emo­tional mo­ment, some­thing that we as IGIA com­mu­nity, are re­ally proud of. It gives us im­mense plea­sure to re­ceive this award and we would like to con­vey our sin­cere grat­i­tude to our pas­sen­gers. “ In 2012, DIAL has man­aged to main­tain an On-Time-Per­for­mance (OTP) of 80% which is a sub­stan­tial im­prove­ment from the past. Around 34.2 mil­lion pas­sen­gers passed through IGIA in 2012 .It han­dled al­most 550,000 tonnes of cargo and over 300,000 air­craft move­ments dur­ing the same pe­riod.
