The In­ter­na­tional Air Cargo As­so­ci­a­tion (TIACA) has ap­pointed Doug Brit­tin as its new Sec­re­tary Gen­eral, ef­fec­tive Au­gust 15th 2013. Doug brings over 33 years of ex­pe­ri­ence to the post, which has in­cluded se­nior roles in the trans­port and lo­gis­tics in­dus­try as well as in govern­ment.

Dur­ing a long ca­reer in the trans­porta­tion in­dus­try, Doug held ex­ec­u­tive level sales, mar­ket­ing and op­er­a­tional po­si­tions with lead­ing com­pa­nies such as BAX Global, Panalpina, Emery and Menlo World­wide. He also has ex­pe­ri­ence of the rail and truck­ing sec­tors. In 2007, he joined the U.S. Trans­porta­tion Se­cu­rity Ad­min­is­tra­tion (TSA) as Air Cargo Man­ager, where he was re­spon­si­ble for the de­vel­op­ment of the Cer­ti­fied Cargo Screen­ing Pro­gramme, as well as pol­icy, for­warder pro­grams and screen­ing tech­nol­ogy de­vel­op­ment. In May 2010, he was pro­moted to Di­vi­sion Di­rec­tor, Air Cargo at TSA head­quar­ters in Ar­ling­ton.
