Now, a GALAXY option for cargo
Kale’s Airport Cargo Management System- GALAXY helps streamline both domestic and international cargo movement at leading airports.
Kale’s Airport cargo management software– GALAXY has been enhanced to handle the complex domestic airport cargo movements.
The enhanced system completely automates the domestic air cargo handling operations spanning outbound and inbound cargo processing, EDI, Agent/Airline invoicing and MIS reports.
Rajesh Panicker, SVP, Kale Logistics Solutions said, “With domestic cargo handling features included in Galaxy, it has become a complete bouquet for any Airport Terminal Operator. Handlers stand to realise considerable benefits with reduction in their cargo handling cycle time. Also, various charges which the trade partners of the Airport had to bear earlier on account of delays or errors have become a thing of the past. The system complies with all international airport standards and regulations and therefore offers quick deployment options for Airports witnessing an expanding cargo business.”
As per industry reports, in the next 10 years, the growth for domestic air cargo in emerging markets in Asia, Africa and Latin America is projected to be 11.7 per cent. In economies like India, with the government focusing on expanding domestic air connectivity, the Civil Aviation Ministry has identified 24 airports for developing domestic cargo terminals to create a national logistic network for faster movement of goods. This envisages the development of dedicated cargo terminals with proper provisioning of
storage and handling of transshipment cargo as the basic criteria.
GALAXY has several unique features in providing complete automation for the Domestic Air Cargo Handling including-a web enabled system, an end-to-end outbound cargo processing consisting of acceptance, loading and departure (manifest) process, inbound process support consisting flight arrival, segregation, finalisation and locating to the warehouse. It also covers transshipment and direct delivery processes.
The pricing and invoicing engine allows automatic generation of invoices at AWB level for the charge-line set. The airport cargo handling community benefits by way of a web portal which provides them online cargo status update and enables data exchange between the handler, airlines and the cargo agents. The domestic air cargo handling process at airports can now be completely automated with the GALAXY system, wherein they will have the ability to perform charge configuration and get a clear view of the cargo movement.
