Tell us about India Cargo Awards. What prompted you to launch these awards?

When we talk about the cargo industry, it is a broad category within the service industry that includes freight forwarders, airlines, airports, warehouses, bonded truckers, shipping lines, to name a few. Despite being a multibillion dollar industry, the cargo industry still lacks visibility and acknowledgment that it truly deserves. Encouraged by the enormous success of India Travel Awards, held for the first time in March 2014, this year we thought of doing the same for the cargo industry. While India Travel Awards gave a platform for the travel fraternity to see and acknowledge regionally, the leaders and emerging talent, India Cargo Awards will felicitate the leaders and game changers of this sector.

Recently, we felicitated the hospitality industry at the first ever India Hospitality Awards -West & South, held at the Crowne Plaza Kochi.

India Cargo Awards will be presented in two regions to begin with: West & South and North & East. The first tier India Cargo Awards West & South are scheduled for October 15, 2015 at the Grand Mercure Goa Shrem Resort.
