The latest word in technology is unmanned. At the first roundtable meeting, Ray Mann, Managing Director, West Wales Airport, said, “The internet has created a situation where there is now an increasing requirement to move goods quickly from the supplier to the consumer. Although initially developed for military operations, UCA can be constructed in any size and shape depending on the task required.”

Glyn Hughes, Global Head of Cargo, IATA, commented, “UCAs have the potential to create new models for business and service delivery but they also have the ability to transform industries and overcome infrastructure limitations. For full economic and social benefits of commercial drone technology to be realised the groundwork needs to be done.”
