Plunging into cross trade logistics

Sharad Goel, Managing Director, Lark Logistics, enumerates the USP of the company which encompasses domain knowledge, local presence. He also shares the company’s expansion plans.

What services you offer to the trade?

We are offering international sea and air freight, custom clearance at all major indian ports, warehousing and transport facility at major ports in India. We are also giving complete multi-modal solution for project cargo for Russia, Ukraine, CIS region and other landlocked countries such as Afghanistan, Ulanbatar by using major gateways like Bandar Abbas, Kotka, Riga, and Quingdao.

Please elaborate on cross trade logistics.

With the globalisation of business, many of our clients from South Asian countries and from India are experiencing the need for third country shipping in which the cargo practically does not pass through the territory of supplier country. We are handling logistics for global companies who have multiple factory/warehouses at different parts of world and want material from there to common project site. Additionally, such kind of facilities is mostly required by companies who are into projects, pharma goods, white goods and raw materials.

Any expansion plans?

We are planning to expand our logistics setup in eastern European countries. We are also in process to have couple of international airline in our kitty so that Indian airlines will have direct connects to most sought after destinations at affordable fares. Our primary focus is to concentrate more on CIS, as it is our core strength area and venture out in a big way in the aviation sector.

Which segment is going to benefit the most with GST implementation and how?

Maximum boost by its implementation will be to warehousing. This taxation will bring the concept of centralised warehouse hubs to facilitate faster and cheaper transport to destination. On global platform, this will make India an ideal place for e-commerce business setup.
