Iwent to drop my brother to the stop from where he was to board a VRL bus from Bangalore to Kundapur. It is here that I spotted a Worldtech rear view camera ( which Volvos normally have). I found it to be an exceptionally good one for long chassis vehicles like the Volvo bus here. The rear view mirror reminded me of the article on Hi-Tech Robotics in the May issue, which highlights the way modernisation is happening. The article on future ready products from Hi-Tech Robotics seems a step in the right direction. Both the driver less shuttle called Novus Drive and a driver drowsiness detection system called Novus Aware could well be game changers. In the interest of safety of passengers, I would request fleet operators to install such innovative technologies in their buses in order to give both the driver and the passengers confidence in terms of safe travel.
