Revolo for buses wins an award

KPIT Technologies’ Revolo for buses has won the ‘Promising Transport Innovation Award’ at the International Transport Forum (ITF) 2016 Summit in Leipzig, Germany. Revolo enables clean urban mobility, and is a versatile system designed to work across different bus formats. The key components of the system are lithium ion batteries, electric motors, a power transmission unit and smart electronic control units. The smart electric buses powered by Revolo have multiple features like intelligent transport systems, mobile phone app. for journey planning and ticketing, wi-fi infotainment and more. Features like these help the buses do provide a superior ride experience that can help encourage public transport adoption. KPIT is currently working with multiple bus manufacturers in India, South East Asia, Africa and South America to bring this technology to market. KPIT’s first electric bus with Revolo technology was flagged off by prime minister Narendra Modi in December 2015. Two such buses are currently operating at the Indian Parliament for its members.
