Momentum lost in November

The Indian auto industry produced a total 17,799,585 vehicles in the duration between April 2016 and November 2016, registerin­g a growth of 10.63 per cent, as against 16,088,825 automobile­s produced in the correspond­ing period last fiscal. A total of 15,420,035 automobile­s were sold in the April-November 2016 period, marking a growth of 12.5 per cent, against the sale of 13,707,157 automobile­s in the correspond­ing period the fiscal prior. In the AprilNovem­ber 2016 period, 444,773 CVs were sold, up 4.66 per cent, against the sale of 424,957 units in the correspond­ing period last fiscal. In November 2016, 45,773 CVs were sold, down (-) 11.58 per cent, against the sale of 51,766 CVs in the correspond­ing period last year. In November 2016, 17,499 M&HCVs were sold, down (-) 13.13 per cent, against the sale of 20,144 units in the correspond­ing period last year. In November 2016, 28,274 LCVs were sold, down (-) 10.59 per cent, against the sale of 31,622 LCVs in the correspond­ing period last year. In November 2016, 33,662 threewheel­ers were sold, down (-) 25.9 per cent, against the sale of 45,425 units sold during the correspond­ing period last year.

Exports

A total of 2,333,188 automobile­s were exported in April-November 2016, down (-) 7.89 per cent, against the export of 2,532,976 autos in the correspond­ing period last fiscal. In the April-November 2016 period, 75,104 CVs were exported, up 13.7 per cent, against the export of 66,054 CVs in the correspond­ing period last fiscal. In November 2016, 8,932 CVs were exported, up 25.15 per cent, against the export of 7,137 CVs in the correspond­ing period last year. In November 2016, 4,103 M&HCVS were exported, up 71.32 per cent, against the export of 2,395 units in the correspond­ing period last year. In November 2016, 4,829 LCVs were exported, up 1.83 per cent, against the export of 4,742 LCVs during the correspond­ing period last year. In November 2016, 23,350 three wheelers were exported, down (-) 15.49 per cent, against the sale of 27,631 units in the correspond­ing period last year.
