Spark Minda lockset sub-assembly

Spark Minda has set up an automotive lockset subassembly in the Yerawada Central Prison, Pune. The setup will facilitate female inmates to learn the skill sets required to assembly automotive locksets and earn a livelihood. Around 25 to 30 female inmates at Yerawada Central Prison have been identified for the job, and as per the criteria laid down by Minda Corporation. Other than train the female inmates to work on a shop floor producing locksets, the Group will pay compliance wages to the jail authorities, which will be subsequently paid to the inmates. The automotive locksets made by the female inmates at Yerawada will be supplied to OEMs as well as the aftermarket. The machinery, raw materials, logistics and quality systems have been invested into by the Group. The jail inmates will run and maintain the setup under the supervision of the Group.
