Essel EV charging and battery swapping infra

Essel Infraprojects Ltd. has launched its electric vehicle charging and battery swapping infrastructure initiative, which aims to generate 50,000 jobs and provide last mile connectivity to the consumer. Creating enabling infrastructure in 20 cities, which is expected to will bring down the running cost per km at par with CNG and other alternative fuel., the initiative aligns with the government’s vision of clean mobility. With the launch of EVs augmenting transport infrastructure and creating job opportunities, the company will spend Rs.1750 crore in a phase wise manner to launch 250 bulk charging stations. It will create 1000 battery swapping locations. There would be one every two-kilometers, and will be supported by digital app. to enable drivers to locate the nearby swapping station and swap the battery in about three minutes flat. Also, 25,000 e-rickshaws will be deployed under the project. Planned over the next four to five years, the operations will start from Ghaziabad ahead of other cities like Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Noida, Meerut, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, and Allahabad.
