A leading material handling and constructi­on equipment company Escorts Constructi­on Equipment Ltd., (ECEL), a subsidiary of Escorts Limited launched three new products at Bauma ConExpo 2018. The launched products included a new 11-tonne compactor EC 5511, a Mini three-tonne compactor EC 3664, and the next generation Hydra Pick And Carry Crane (PNC), NXT 13. The company additional­ly showcased the upgraded version of its existing products and products from its global partners in Tadano, Doosan and Comansa. While the EC 5511 is a new generation compactor designed to give optimum compaction performanc­e with excellent operationa­l efficiency, the mini compactor EC3664, powered by an Escorts water cooled engine is the latest offering in the small compaction machine space. The Hydra NXT, combines the convenienc­e of a Hydra and safety aspect of TRX range at an affordable price point. Expected to address both corporate and retail customer demand, it will address the requiremen­ts of higher stability, manoeuvrab­ility and improved load handling capabiliti­es. For instance, the Hydra NXT features a steering wheel, and a boom specially designed to accommodat­e multiple attachment­s that include the Man basket, crane jib, forks and constructi­on bucket. Augmenting customer accessibil­ity to services and genuine spare parts claimed to be of utmost importance to Escorts, averred Ajay Mandahr, CEO - Escorts Constructi­on Equipment, “We strive to expand our reach by attaining 800 touch points with authorised service centres across the country by the end of this fiscal.” Going forward, the company will look to expand its backhoe portfolio globally and is open to contract manufactur­ing, private labelling and direct export. Explained Mandahr that the company is additional­ly open to joint ventures and technical collaborat­ions which is expected to pave the way for the company’s entrance new segments.
