THE TESTING PARAMETERS

Consumer Voice - - Comparative Product Test -

Video Quality

Video quality testing was done to give overall rating for the camera’s video quality in different light conditions. The expert team tested various videos for sharpness, smoothness of moving subject and colour accuracy.

Image Stabilization

It means how well the camera compensates for trembling motions and images that might otherwise be blurry. All the cameras were examined for image stabilization as they were expected to absorb the movements and stabilize the image and store the same.

Picture Quality

This is the most important parameter as every consumer wants the picture quality to be satisfactory – clear and sharp. Overall ratings were done by assessing picture quality in different light conditions and at different zoom ranges.

Flash Quality

When operated under the desired conditions, the flash has to be synchronized with the ‘click’ button to adequately illuminate the subject in focus. Also, the energy has to be immediately restored for the next so that continuous pictures can be taken. Apart from these necessary functions, flash quality was examined for its ability to adjust to brightness, light strength and appropriate distribution of light, among other things.

Auto Focus

Even professional photographers tend to keep their cameras on auto focus. As long as you understand how it works by recognizing the area(s) of focus within the camera's viewfinder, auto focus is usually better than manual – an important function of the camera to be judged for ratings. The appropriateness and intelligence levels of ‘autofocus’ were thoroughly observed.

Viewfinder

The viewfinder has always been effective for taking pictures, because pressing the camera against the eye actually steadies it. It also helps the photographer frame the picture. In addition, bright sunlight can wash out an LCD, making it difficult to see the subject. The viewfinder’s ability, ease of use, position and clarity were among several elements adjudged for ratings.
