“Before I’m attacked for supporting the ban of plus-sized models, allow me to put forth some facts. The fact that obesity is an increasingly scary health issue, that a different research has found that average-sized women actually have lower self-esteem after looking at plus-sized models (as against super-skinny ones), and that models are ‘inspiration figures’, looking at chubby ones will most definitely make many of us even less afraid of wolfing down that last piece of cake. The truth is, ‘fat’ models send out just as much of an unhealthy message as underweight ones—why can’t we all just root for ‘fit and healthy’?”
