The band is taking giant leaps in the heavy metal genre and is hoping to create an audience of those who truly appreciate this “pure form of music”.

If you’ve been even mildly following India’s growing music scene, you’d have noticed that there’s a new band mushrooming almost every day. So what makes the guys from Delhi-based Grammy Winning Effort any different? Well, for starters, the band is a compilation of lead members from different bands, coming together as one energy. That’s Dayus Madhan on the vocals, Shashvat Pandit and R N Jaidev who play the guitar, Shantanu Sudarshan on the drums and Akshay Dwivedi who plays bass. Shashvat explains, “The five of us are good friends who have been playing with other bands around the city for a few years. One day, we just decided that we should start a hardcore band because we love heavy music and there aren’t many around.” While Grammy Winning Effort has only been around for a year, things are already looking good. The band has a steadily growing fan base, and has been receiving plenty of performance offers. So what’s in store for these metalmusic lovers in 2012? “We’re always working on new music and new songs, trying to constantly put a new sound down onto a record. We’re currently going to record four songs, which we will be putting out between January and February on an EP, to be distributed free to promote our sound.” Sounds like good music!
