1. DECODE YOUR BODY

It is important to know what shape and size you are dressing for. Always remember your correct size. It gives clarity on what you should be picking up for yourself.

2. KNOW YOUR COLOURS

We all have our favourite colours, but there’s a difference between a shade you like and a shade that looks good on you. Different colours are flattering for different skin tones, so figure yours out and stick with them.

3. PICK ONE TREND AT A TIME

It’s tempting, but don’t pick up everything you see in a store. Don’t buy the entire collection, but pick pieces that work for you. When experimenting with unusual pieces like prints or colour block, purchase one at a time. Wear the look a few times, then buy more in the same category if you’re keen.

4. IT’S SMART TO HAVE A LIST OF GO-TO-STORES

Keep a shopping list handy. An emergency store visit or a last-minute alteration only comes with building good relations, so the next time you go shopping, don’t forget to say thank you to the store assistant.
