...Minoti Makim Minoti Makim is a self- proclaimed, die- hard party animal. She also heads her own company, called Carpe Diem, which provides services in PR, events and corporate communication. A keen traveller, dreamer, poet, philosopher and photographer, Minoti is also a doting mum and home cook. How does she live her life? “I live every moment to its fullest and let go of my inhibitions because life is right now!” Q How do you manage to multitask being a mother, wife and career woman? I have always been a multi- tasker. I’ve balanced a wide range of passions and interests, and relationships and responsibilities. Taking on different roles has become a habit now. I have a lot of energy, enthusiasm and interest in the ‘ tasks’ at hand, and that helps me go a long way.
Q What has been the high point in your life? I think every day has been a high point in my life. I’ve been really lucky that way.
Q What’s your personal style like? It is fun and functional. It often consists of short outfits, mixed and matched in a few minutes! I don’t really dwell on my style, so it’s kinda accidental.
Q Who are your fave designers? I really like Pero, Eleven Eleven, Savio Jon, Cavalli, Stella McCartney, and Etro.
Q How would you define happiness? Happiness is a smile on your face, the peace in your heart and equanimity in your mind.
Q What’s inside your beauty bag? Tonnes! There’s Jo Malone’s Orange Blossom fragrance, Estée Lauder’s Re- Nutriv Intensive Lifting Makeup, M. A. C’s Satin Lipstick in Twig, M. A. C Zoom Lash Mascara, and Spa Ceylon Floral Body Lotion in Jasmine.
Q What’s the one thing you’d like to do before you die? Wow! There are so many things I want to do. But if I really had to pick just one, I’d have to say I’d love to retire to a beautiful beach somewhere.
Q What has been the biggest leveller in your life?
Awareness.
Q What kind of boss are you? I’m a pretty cool, but focused boss. I’m very result- oriented without being pushy. People who work with me have autonomy over their projects so they get to learn and grow—I’m always around for guidance. Sometimes I think I’m a
better employee than a boss.
Q What’s your idea of a perfect Saturday night? I call friends over to my place in the evening for drinks and then we head out on the town. I don’t make very detailed plans beyond where to go next. The checklist includes good music, drinks and space to dance! The night is incomplete with out a couple of great laughs, fun stories recollected, a whole lot of spontaneity and great company!
Q Your ideal date night outfit is... A short, sexy dress, super- high heels, glittery accessories and a bright mani and pedi!
Q What hobbies keep you busy? I’m very fond of reading, practicing yoga, playing the piano and swimming.
