She is one of India’s bestselling (and most popular) authors, who got her break while writing a blog that skyrocketed her to national fame, and led to

subsequent book deals.

When did you know you wanted to be a writer?

“My first attempt at writing a full length novel was at the age of 10! Years later, I got success with my second book, and that’s when I knew it was what I wanted to do with my life.”

Being an author is your dream job because...

“I am my own boss. I have total creative freedom—I can play God! My work is therapy for me, I forget

everything when I write.”

What is your advice to aspiring authors?

“Ask yourself what kind of writing you want to do. Then study the work already done in that genre that has won literary awards. You will get a fair idea of the kind of writing it requires. Make your reading wide and varied. Join a writers’ group, take classes, and just keep writing!”
