HCA CLARIFIES ON IPL GAME TICKETS JURISDICTION
Faced with immense pressure for complimentary passes for Wednesday’s IPL game involving Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians in the City, the Hyderabad Cricket Association has sought to clarify that it is merely providing the venue and support functions for the match and had nothing to do with the tickets.
In a statement released on Monday, the HCA reiterated: “This is to clarify that the Hyderabad Cricket Association is making available the general facilities and infrastructure to M/s Sunrisers Hyderabad, franchisee of Hyderabad IPL cricket team to conduct all their IPL matches at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Uppal, Hyderabad.
The Hyderabad Cricket Association limits itself by providing assistance in the conduct of the games and this is to inform all concerned to contact the representatives of M/s Sunrisers Hyderabad for any requirements with regard to conduct of the matches & complimentary invitation for all the IPL matches.
Please note that the HCA has no role in inviting any dignitaries to the IPL matches and this is at the sole discretion of M/s Sunrisers Hyderabad.”
The match was expected to generate huge interest as Mumbai features stalwarts likes Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting but Sunrisers’ superb run this season added to the excitement.
