APPSC gets nod for Group-1 recruitments HC CLOSES FOR SUMMER VACATION
A division bench comprising Justice R. Subhash Reddy and Justice A.V. Sesha Sai of the AP High Court has granted permission to the AP Public Service Commission to proceed with the selection process for Group-I posts.
The bench said no appointments shall be made till further orders and the commission will have to ensure final list of candidates is not leaked and no information is published in this regard. issued notices to the state government on a PIL seeking proper facilities and protective measures in private educational institutions of the state.
A division bench of acting Chief Justice N.V. Ramana and Justice Vilas V. Afzulpurkar was dealing with a case based on letters from V. Vishnu Murthy from Kakinada urging the Chief Justice to call for reports and records from authorities concerned with regard to facilities at various private schools in the state. Ram has directed Ranga Reddy district collector to conduct an enquiry into various certificates issued by the tahsildar of Saroornagar handing over 8 acres of prime land in Nadergul village to private parties. One Penta Reddy had complained that the tahsildar has fudged revenue records of the village favouring one Y. Pochaiah and his family. The court had earlier directed the tahsildar to file a counter-affidavit on the plea.
The tahsildar contended that the certificate presented by the petitioner was not in official records. He said the file was not traced and it does not pertain to the office of Saroornagar tahsildar.
The judge was not satisfied with the tahsildar’s reply and directed the collector to submit the report of an inquiry against the tahsildar before the court after the summer vacation. The HC will be closed for summer vacation from Wednesday May 1, to Friday, May 31. During the vacation, all matters of urgent nature would be heard by single and division benches at 10.30 a.m. on May 8, 15, 22, and 29.
Justices L. Narasimha Reddy, Vilas V Afzulpurkar and C. Kodanda Ram would hear the matters during the first half i.e. between May 1 and 15, and Justices K.C. Bhanu, K.G. Shankar and C. Praveen Kumar would hear during the second half from May 16 to 31. The filing of the cases will be allowed on May 6, 13, 20, and 27.
