Cmhas us in the dark, say mantris

- DC CORRESPONDENT HYDERABAD, MAY 1

Some senior ministers, including panchayati raj minister K. Jana Reddy on Wednesday took objection to Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy announcing new schemes like ‘ Amma Hastam’ and ‘Bangaru Talli’ without their knowledge. They have decided to take this up with him in the next Cabinet meeting.

In a brief interaction with the media at Gandhi Bhavan, PCC president and minister for transport Botsa Satyanarayana said that he could only comment on the Bangaru Talli programme once he gets details of it.

Mr Satyanarayana was not invited to a recent Cabinet ministers’ informal meet at the CM’s residence even though he was in the city.

Health minister D.L. Ravindra Reddy who came to meet Mr Satyanarayana at Gandhi Bhavan on Wednesday also said that he was not aware of the scheme as it was not being implemented in Kadapa district.

“Officials told me that they would get all nine pro- visions in May and then implement the Amma Hastam scheme. Per se, the scheme appears to be good but it all depends on how best it can be implemented without hitches. I’ll ask my people to make use of the scheme and tell them to get after officials if they don’t implement this in full,” Mr Ravindra Reddy sarcastically said.

The sulking minister said that he was not aware of the new schemes, either announced or launched by the Chief Minister, and had only read about them in the newspapers. “The CM has not shared information with me; I will ask him about this in the next cabinet meeting,” Mr Ravindra Reddy added.

Meanwhile, senior minister K. Jana Reddy too objected to the manner in which the CM was announcing and launching new schemes.

“I was not invited for the so-called informal meeting with ministers when the schemes were discussed and announced. The CM cannot take such decisions without consulting all concerned. I will raise the issue in my next meeting with him,” Mr Reddy said.
