- DC CORRESPONDENT HYDERABAD MAY 1

Three rape cases, including that of a minor girl and a mentally challenged woman, were reported in the city on Wednesday.

In the first incident, an eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her step father at Rajendranagar. The victim, who developed stomach pain after the incident, was shifted Osmania GH. The police has booked a case against her stepfather Firoz Khan, 30. The incident occurred a week ago. The victim’s mother, who is the second wife of Firoze Khan noticed on Wednesday that the girl was having stomach pain. “When she repeatedly asked the girl what was the reason, the girl revealed that she was raped by Firoz Khan a week ago,” a police officer said.

In the second incident, a 22-year-old mentally disabled woman was sexually assaulted by her neighbour on the wee hours of Wednesday at Alwal. The accused, K. Nagaraju, 23, a painter, took the victim to his house and raped her, police said.

“The victim and her sister were sleeping on the veranda of their house at Vijayanagar at around 2.30 am. The accused woke her up and took her to his house and raped her. Another man named Narasimha, 21, a friend of the first accused, also attempted to outrage her modesty. Both the accused have been arrested.” inspector B. Pushpan Kumar said.

In another incident, a 20year old labourer was raped by three men, on Monday night. Inspector K. Venkat Reddy said the woman was a daily wager. "She says that a man asked her if she would be interested in taking up a job at a function hall, during the night. She agreed and the man promised to pick her up at night." said the inspector.

The man came on a scooter and picked her up along with another woman. The man dropped the other woman at the DYR hall and asked her to come along with him to pick groceries, police said. She says she was taken to a spot near Balaji Nagar, where two men were waiting. The trio raped her, the inspector said. The police questioned the other women and staffers at the function hall. However, the culprits have not been identified. “They remember the man’s face, but do not know the bike’s number,” police said.
